HOW TO BUY WHOLESALE LEATHER COATS
If you're interested in making money using online auctions, or if you're opening a new business, then finding wholesale items should be at the top of your list. Wholesale pricing lets you buy items at a low cost and increase the profits you make on that item. You may want to buy wholesale leather coats, which sell throughout the year.
Things You'll Need:
Vendor license
Tax identification number
1. Get your vendor license and tax identification number through the state where you live or where your business is located. Before you can make wholesale purchases, you must have this information, which indicates that you'll pay taxes on the items you buy and sell. Many businesses won't work with you without a copy of this information.
2. Visit a flea market in your local area and look for wholesale catalogues such as Sunrise Merchandise or Dollar Item. These catalogs list all the products sold by an individual company, with information on buying. You can also find directory catalogs, which list hundreds of companies offering wholesale prices on things like leather coats.
3. Check with flea market vendors and shops in your area about wholesaling merchandise. Some vendors are interested in wholesaling their excess or surplus coats, but aren't sure how to do it. Additionally, you may find vendors that got a good price on coats and can still make money by selling to you.
4. Find coats that you like and look at the labels to find the names of the manufacturers. Then contact each of the companies directly and inquire about wholesale prices. Include as much information as possible about your business, which proves to the company that you're an interested buyer. You'll then receive a copy of its catalog, with wholesale prices listed inside.
5. Attend clothing trade shows and leather trade shows such as the NW Trend Show and Stylemax. These shows are only open to buyers and sellers, but it's a great place to make contacts and get information on sellers and manufacturers. Many of the designs at the shows are available at wholesale cost.
Tips:
Look for stylish coats that have classic detailing, rather than coats using the hottest trends of the moment. It might be harder in the future to sell your supply of the coats once the style changes.
Be careful about how you approach vendors and retailers. You'll likely find a few that aren't interested in sharing information and some may even be rude.
